Artificial insemination is the chance for a childless couple to become parents

The realities say that every sixth couple in Ukraine has a disappointing diagnosis – infertility. Infertility factor can be female, male or joint. Modern reproductive technologies allow many couples who have lost hope of becoming parents to conceive a child. One of the auxiliary methods of artificial insemination is artificial insemination – the fertilization of a woman by the sperm of a man (husband / partner or donor).
What is the essence of artificial insemination
The essence of the treatment of infertility by the method of intrauterine insemination (VMI) consists in the fact that a specially prepared male sperm is injected directly into the womb of a woman. In the future, everything goes like it is with a normal conception: sperm should reach the egg through the fallopian tubes and fertilize it. The effectiveness of MMI can be from 2% to 40%, and on average it is not more than 15%. The benefits of infertility treatment by the BIS method are that it is most closely related to the natural conception.
There are two types of intrauterine insemination:

A sperm donor (in the absence of sperm in a man or in genetic problems).
The type of BMI will be the most optimal for the couple, depending on the parameters of the spermogram of the partner.
In what cases artificial insemination is recommended
Indications for carrying out the WMI by the sperm of the husband or partner are followers:

The donor’s sperm dosing can be recommended in the following cases: in men with pronounced oligoestheterosospermia and azoospermia. That is, the decrease in sperm motility, poor morphology and the low number of sperm in the ejaculate per unit volume. And also ejaculatory – sexual disorders and unfavorable medical – genetic prognosis. In women, fertilization with donor sperm is carried out more often on the basis of medical and social testimony (at the request of a woman). Insemination is not carried out in case of obstruction or difficulty in the passage of the uterine tubes. In such cases, they offer in vitro fertilization (IVF, IVF).
What is important to know in couples treating infertility
Contraindications to insemination may be somatic and psychological diseases, which are a contraindication for pregnancy and childbirth; congenital developmental defects or acquired deformities of the uterine cavity, in which embryo implantation or pregnancy is not possible. Also various formations are tumors of the ovaries; benign tumors of the uterus requiring surgical intervention, malignant neoplasms of any localization, acute inflammatory processes.
Before conducting an intrauterine insemination, both a woman and a man need to undergo a number of examinations: examination by a gynecologist with smears for flora and cytology, folliculometry and ovulation monitoring (performed from 7-9 days of the menstrual cycle), etc. It is also necessary that the indicators of spermogram respond to the existing requirements.
